Crankmasters Wednesday Night Series (WNS) - Road

4 Wednesday Night Series: A weekly series of 15 events hosted by The Calgary Crankmasters.

These races are at various locations and consist of different events that are both challenging and fun for all riders.  This includes road races, time trials, hill climbs, criteriums, team races, sprints, etc.  This is where you can learn some strategies, and gain club points towards category cash prizes at the end of the year.

Primary members of Crankmasters already include WNS racing.  For those of you that belong to other Alberta Bicycle Association sanctioned cycling clubs, you will need to sign up as a secondary member of Crankmasters, which costs only $30 and allows you to attend our group rides as well.

The races start the first week of May and run for 15 consecutive weeks. You sign up for the series and come whenever you can.  Open our club calendar to see the events.

After each series (5 weeks) a summary of all points awarded will be posted. Cash awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each series, and overall at the annual WNS awards event.

Strive Cycling Stage Race (U17 + Junior Women)

The Strive Cycling Stage Race is 12 days of learning and racing. Athletes will be welcomed to Calgary, Alberta, Canada to partake in 8 road races, on-the-bike skill sessions, and off-the-bike learnings from July 25th to August 6th, 2024.

https://www.strivecyclingstagerace.ca/registration.html

Mentors will support racers by recording video for post-race debriefs and on some stages actively partaking for real time coaching.

The goal is to improve race knowledge and increase peloton skills by inviting all North American U17 and Junior Women Racers to one spot; creating one large peloton of support, encouragement, development, and competition.

Athletes will be staying together in a dorm setting with opportunities to make new friends and learn from each other.
